As a Property Manager, there are always education challenges of managing telecom agreements. It is not in my wheelhouse of expertise and therefore a very stressful period when dealing with telecom providers who, like property owners, are in it for their "sides" and it definitely feels like there are pronounced sides!! It is like speaking an entirely different language that Jeffery and Teri somehow speak fluently - thank goodness! When I learned that our company used JRS and Associates it came as such a welcome relief that I had someone who would negotiate on our behalf as long as it took to ensure that we received the fairest outcome possible. I can’t say enough about JRS and Associates. Before engaging JRS, I had to deal with a tremendous amount of telecom providers whether it be providers wanting access to run fiber in my building (at most times for free at their terms) or a tenant wanting to bring in a specific fiber provider to provide service to their space. I met Jeff early in 2001 after we planned to open in NYC for our wireless site management company,
Highpointe Group.

 

After months of discussing the opportunities in the wireless space and considering his experience at WTC, his work ethic, and overall “Jersey Good Guy” attitude, I knew we could craft a partnership and grow our platform.

We did that while the market, at that time was in disarray. Legacy companies were going through bankruptcy and restructuring while landlords suffered with poor customer service and declining revenue. HighPointe had a different model, and we were excited to offer landlords an option. Jeff led the effort in the tri state area and travelled the country with the HighPointe team doing audits and identifying unaccounted for revenue.

Back in NYC, the WTC buildings had just sold, and Jeff had completed the construction management for the broadcaster antenna when 9/11 interrupted our takeover plans of the site for January of 2002.

 

After 9/11, Jeff and HighPointe focused on growth and he was integral to the acquisition of Crown Castle’s site management group, Spectrum Site Management. The next eight years saw annual YOY growth with client buildings from San Francisco, Las Vegas to Washington DC. Clients ranged from condominium associations to institutional clients like JP Morgan Chase, MetLife, Port Authority of New York, CBRE and Vornado.

 

HighPointe’s sale to a subsidiary of American Tower would not have been possible without Jeff. He is a great man and understands the value of spectrum and the potential of the 5G and later technologies that will influence the built environment and the workplace of the future.

 

Jeff continues to work with myself and our team on a host of wired and wireless initiatives plus certain low voltage wiring challenges.
